Feelings
I've been struggling with my feelings. I am the midst of a tough transition and the feelings of grief, anger and sadness overwhelm me. I saw my counselor today and she normalized what I was going through. That anyone in my situation would be feeling as crappy as I do right now. The problem is that I get angry at myself for feeling the way I do right now. For some reason I think I"m just supposed to suck it up and accept the situation and move on. Although I can't move on....The only way to get over my situation is to get through it.

Good Friday Five

1. How will you pray and worship today? I am participating in a peace and social justice vigil from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm. We will meditate on the stations of the cross in the context of what troubles our world today. We will pray for peace.
2. Share a powerful memory or memories of Good Friday past. I went to a Good Friday service at a Catholic Cathedral several years ago. It was a powerful service because it was almost all ritual in its content. The service began with the liturgists taking off their shoes and kissing the ground. At one point a cantor sang over and over again "God oh God why have you forsaken me." Then a huge cross was passed around the congregation. It was an emotional service for me because the elements reached past my head into my heart.
3. How have you grown and experienced God's love during this past Lent? I am struggling with a major unbloggable event. I am anxious, heart broken and scared. However I've had many angels pop up to give me encouragement along the way. God is speaking through them, letting me know that all shall be well. Some of those angels are my RevGalBlogPals. Thank you and God bless you.
4. In whom do you see the face of the suffering Christ most clearly? Me. As I listened to the Tenabrae service last night, I found myself relating to the things that Christ did through the passion story.
5. Where do you find hope for resurrection?Bonus: Share a song, poem, or prayer that makes the paschal mystery come alive for you.
Very truly, I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice; you will have pain, but your pain will turn into joy. When a woman is in labour, she has pain, because her hour has come. But when her child is born, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy of having brought a human being into the world. So you have pain now; but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. On that day you will ask nothing of me. Very truly, I tell you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. (John 16: 22-25)

I'm probably going to go to Hell for this.
Sung to the tune of You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling. (Thank you to Cheesehead for the inspiration)
You never close your eyes anymore when you pray your prayers.
And there's no devotedness like before as your soul despairs.
You're trying hard not to show it, (Pastor).
But Pastor, Pastor I know it...
You've lost that lenten' feeling,
Whoa, that lenten' feeling,
You've lost that lenten' feeling,
Now it's gone...gone...gone...wooooooh.
Now there's a weary look in your eyes
as you eat your midweek soup.
And now your parishioners criticize the things you do.
It makes me just feel like crying, (Pastor).
'Cause Pastor, Christ our Savior is dying.
You lost that lenten' feeling,
Whoa, that lenten' feeling,
You've lost that lenten' feeling,
Now it's gone...gone...gone...woooooah
Pastor, Pastor, you get down on your knees for hours.
If you would only love lent like you used to do, yeah.
You had some time...some time...some time you just can’t find today.
So don't...don't...don't...don't let it slip away.
Pastor (Pastor), Pastor (Pastor),
I beg of you please...please,
I’ll pray for you (I’ll pray for you),
You need my prayers (You need my prayers),
So bring it on back (So bring it on back),
Bring it on back (so bring it on back).
Bring back that lenten' feeling,
Whoa, that lenten' feeling
Bring back that lenten' feeling,
'Cause it's gone...gone...gone,and you can't go on,
noooo...
Bring back that lenten' feeling,
Whoa, that lenten' feeling
Bring back that lenten' feeling,'Cause it's gone...gone...

This too shall pass
Life has been well...unbloggable. I've had a lot going on at my church and it's been rough. I keep looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes I see a glimmer, but than it fades. As I was driving home from work this song was playing on my CD player. I truly believe that it was God speaking to me.
Here's the words if you can't watch the video
This Too Shall Pass - India Arie
I've achieved so much in life,
but I'm an amateur in love
My bank account is doing just fine
but my emotions are bankrupt
My body is nice and strong
but my heart is in a million pieces
When the sun is shining so am I
but when night falls, so do my tears
Sometimes the beat is so loud in my heart
that I can barely tell our voices apart
Sometimes the fear is so loud in my head
that I can barely hear what God says
but then I hear a whisper that this too shall pass
I hear the angels whisper that this too shall pass
my ancestors whisper that this day will one day be the past
so I walk in faith that this too shall pass
The one that loved me the most
turned around and hurt me the worst
Been doing my best to move on
but the pain just keeps singing me songs
My head and my heart are at war
cause love ain't happening the way I want it
Feel like I'm about to break down
can't hear the light at the end of the tunnel
is when I pray for healing in my heart
to be put back together what is torn apart
and I pray for quiet in my head
that I can hear clearly what GOD says
but then I hear a whisper that this too shall pass
I hear the angels whisper that this too shall pass
my ancestors whisper that this day will one day be the past
so I walk in faith that this too shall pass
All of a sudden I realized that it only hurts worst to fight it
So I embrace my shadow and hold on to the morning light
this too shall pass...
I hear the angels whisper that trouble don't have to last always
I hear the angels whisper even the day after tomorrow will one day be yesterday
I hear my angels whisper
I hear my angels whisper this too shall pass

My theme song for Lent
I am having a very challenging Lent. The events are unbloggable. I am trying to hold on to my faith and hope but I admit that I am only hanging on by my fingernails.
I've always thought of Lent as a time to give up something, this Lent I want to add something, I don't know what that is yet. For now I'm thinking it might be a theme song, perhaps Steve Winwoods "While You See A Chance."
